About Us

Hollinworth Woodworks is a fine woodworking studio located close to Ottawa, on the family farm. Guy Hollinworth is a highly trained and experienced woodworker. He is passionate about creating the highest quality furniture and unique custom designs, all built to last generations. Guy’s original and custom works are based on traditional and time honoured methods of woodworking, while integrating modern and contemporary design that will compliment any home. All pieces are built to be timeless, both in design and longevity.

Born and raised in Ottawa, Guy Hollinworth is a professional woodworker and land conservationist. After graduating with a degree in history from Trent University he went back to college, first studying timber framing at College of the Rockies in Cranbrook, British Columbia. On graduating, he worked for a Swiss hand-cut timber frame company. After gaining experience in a production company, Guy chose to specialize further and took the fine woodworking diploma program at Selkirk College in Nelson, BC.

Guy returned to the Ottawa region to establish his woodworking practice, first restoring and transforming the century barn on the family farm property into a highly functional carpentry shop.

Guy believes it is essential to be part of the whole process, from acorn to table. He is a tree farmer, lumberjack, sawyer, timber framer and fine woodworker.

His imaginative and timeless designs are made from selectively and sustainably sourced wood from the farm forests. All production is as environmentally regenerative as possible, with careful replanting and the recycling of wood waste in the gardens and orchards. On the farm Guy practises permaculture, in the forests, gardens, orchards and hen and duck shelters that surround his wood-heated workshop.

Everything is done to promote biodiversity and a healthy forest. This attention to land stewardship is reflected in the care, design and craftsmanship of all furniture production at Hollinworth Farm Woodworks.
